#10: Shih Tzu
The Shih-tzu is a solid and compact little dog. Their name is pronounced "Sheet-zoo".
The most distinctive
feature of the Shih-tzu is their long, flowing double coat.
The name Shih tzu means “lion”. This little
dog is sweet natured, playful and is is not afraid
to stand up for himself!
Shih-tzu were bred to be a docile companion dog.
A well bred Shih-tzu should be friendly and trusting toward all.
Shih-tzu weigh between 9 and 16 pounds. They
require minimal exercise and their long, luxurious coat needs daily brushing and
maintenance.

The poodle is a remarkably intelligent and trainable dog. Because of their
coat, they are often considered high maintenance. They are hardy and excel
in obedience training.
The breed was originally a water retriever from Germany.
The “poodle clip” commonly seen in dog shows was specially designed by hunters to help
their poodles move
through the water more easily. The patches of hair not shaved off the the body are designed
to
protect vital organs and joints, which can be susceptible to cold.
Poodles kept as family dogs usually have a
simpler hair cut. But, regardless of the trim type, frequent grooming is required.
Poodles come in a variety of solid colors, including black, white, gray and apricot.
They are generally considered to be allergy friendly - that is
hypoallergenic, because they don't shed, which may help reduce allergic reactions.

Bulldogs are known for their massive short-faced head and loose-jointed, shuffling gait.
By nature, the bulldog is known to be both resolute and dignified.
Although considered to be a medium-sized dog, they are not your typical lap dog,
but would like to be!
Bulldogs are very popular because of their gentle and lovable dispositions - not to mention their
adorable wrinkles!
Bulldogs may be brindle, white, red, fawn, fallow or piebald.
Because of their tendency to form strong bonds with children, Bulldogs are considered to be
excellent family pets.
They tend to be protective and gentle at the same time.
Bulldogs require minimal grooming and exercise.
Their short nose makes them prone to overheating in warm weather.

Dachsunds are known for their long and low bodies. They are eager hunters who excel

The dachsund is a lively breed of dog with a friendly personality

wirehaired or longhaired) and can be miniature (11 pounds and under) or standard size (16-32
pounds).
Dachshunds are an ideal pet for many homes because they are lovable and playful companions who can adapt to most
living environments.
They require moderate exercise, and
depending on their coat type, may need regular grooming.

The boxer is a powerful dog with

They are patient and playful with children,

This versatile hunting breed comes in three colors – yellow, black and chocolate – and as a
double-coated breed that sheds seasonally, regular grooming keeps his coat at its
water-resistant best.
An ideal sporting and family dog, the Labrador retriever thrives as
part of an active family or as a trusted hunting companion.
